In 2012, Sisterhood - with support from the St. Lucia corporate community hosted its very first, Jazz Sampler; a musical event that puts the spotlight on St. Lucian local Jazz and Contemporary musicians, giving Jazz enthusiast, visitors to the island and stakeholders in the music industry a "sneak peek" into the music and lives of our national greats, especially as they prepare for the St. Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival.
This initiative conceptualized and managed by Sisterhood serves as a "sample" whetting the appetites of the public and building the momentum as persons grow in anticipation of the St. Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival.
The format of the Jazz Sampler, being a very unique one; features a LIVE (to audience) interview segment where there is dialogue between the artiste and the host before they take the stage to perform. For the very first time the audience was able to get very intimate with the artiste, in a way that has never been done before.
"Sophisticated", "Refreshing", "Exciting" and "Spectacular" are only some of the colorful adjectives used by patrons, sponsors and the media used to describe the event which saw an interesting mix of young professionals, well known business persons and jazz and music lovers.
